About the song: You have been loved is a track from the 1996 album Older. It is for me the most beautiful of the plethora of George Michael ballads. The slow-jazzy introduction, the smooth voice and the haunting melody make this a wonderful song, which just manages to stay on the right side of the line between tasteful and tacky. As a single it failed to impress in the USA, but it reached the #2 slot in the UK. Run time 5:28.
