Under pressure (Queen and David Bowie)

About the artists: this is a once-off collaboration between Queen and David Bowie, that evolved from a chance encounter jam session that Bowie and Queen had at Queen's studio in Montreux (see Wiki for more details). It was a huge success, hitting the #1 spot in many countries. For more information on these singers separately, see any of their many entries in my list.

About the song: this 1982 hit single is one of the most successful results of two bands/artists cooperating just once. In spite of David Bowie's wonderful contribution, the song is very much a Queen product in terms of instrumentation and execution. Freddie Mercury tackles the higher vocals in his own inimitable way, delivering some classically bravura moments, while Bowie tackles the lower register to provide the perfect balance. Run time 3:57.
