Lyin' eyes (Eagles)

About the band: The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. They are one of the world's best-selling bands, having sold more than 200 million records, including 100 million albums sold in U.S alone. Their highest popularity was in the seventies, when they released six of their seven studio albums. The Eagles currently have four songs in my list of about 200 best pop/rock songs of all time.

About the song: The 1975 album One of these nights marks the artistic highlight in the career of the Eagles. The title song is probably still the best known track from this album, but the outstanding song is Lyin' eyes, a beautiful ballad, with all the Eagles trade marks, including country rock guitars, close harmonies and an exceptionally moving text about a girl who has chosen security in life by marrying someone she does not love. In a severely abridged version, the song was released as a single and made the #2 position in the Billboard hot 100. Run time 6:23.
