She's leaving home (Beatles)

About the band: The Beatles were a British rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The group, whose best-known lineup comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, are generally regarded as the most influential band of all time. After 13 successful studio albums and dozens of hits, the band split in 1970. The Beatles currently have one song in my list of about 200 best pop/rock songs of all time.

About the song: The Beatles changed the course of pop music with their release of the 1967 landmark album Sergeant Pepper's lonely hearts club band. One of the tracks of this album is the only Beatles song that qualifies for my list. She's leaving home is a perhaps rather controversial choice from their repertoire, an almost too sweet song (those harps skirt the danger zone of becoming kitsch...) about a girl leaving her parents - but interestingly observed from the parents' point of view. Run time 3:37.
