Pariah (Steven Wilson)

About the artist: Steven Wilson (1967) is an English musician, singer, songwriter and record producer, most closely associated with the progressive rock genre. He became known as the founder, lead guitarist, lead vocalist and songwriter of the band Porcupine Tree, as well as being a member of several other bands, including Blackfield and No-Man. He released his first solo album in 2008, followed by four more over the years, mostly to great critical acclaim. Steven Wilson currently has five songs in my list of about 200 best pop/rock songs of all time.

About the song: Pariah was the first single released from the 2017 album To the bone, in which Wilson pays tribute to the art pop acts from the eighties. Although this track is actually a duet with Israeli singer Ninet Tayeb, it was not billed as such, neither on the album nor on the single cover. Her substantial contribution was acknowledged as "featuring Ninet Tayeb" - that's why it is listed here as a Steven Wilson solo song too. These details aside, this is the best duet this side of Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush in Don't give up. A glorious song with a magnificent video to boot. Run time: 4:46.
