Bubbling under: Time after time (Cyndi Lauper)
Cyndi Lauper (image credit) is one of those artists where most of the output is mediocre at best, but with one absolute highlight. She was one of the biggest stars of the early MTV era, and sold five million copies of her 1984 debut album She's So Unusual, which gave her a series of four top ten hits in the US. Her stand-out song is one of those four: her own composition Time after time. This song has been covered many times (for instance by Everything but the Girl) and is destined to become a light-jazz classic as well in my opinion. Excellent melody, and some beautiful lines in the lyrics like "Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new...".
