Bubbling under: Riders on the storm (Doors)
Doors (image credit) have obtained their somewhat controversial legendary status mainly because of the untimely - or some cynics would say timely - death of Jim Morrison. That does not take away that they left some excellent songs like Light my fire and especially Riders on the storm from 1971. The descending notes played on the organ are amongst the most easily recognizable snippets of music (or musicules as a Dutch DJ once defined it). And the sound effects of this track from the album L.A. Woman are quite stunning for that time.
