77. Andorra (Colin Blunstone)

Colin Blunstone (image credit), the former lead singer of the Zombies, released a number of interesting albums and singles during the seventies, which consistently drew less attention than they warranted. Surprising since songs like I don't believe in miracles and Caroline goodbye have definitely stood the test of time. Probably his best solo effort is the 1972 album Ennismore, which includes the lovely Andorra. It is an understated melodious ballad, describing a journey, which has its beginning in Andorra, goes on in Barcelona and ends in the southern Spanish city of Grenade. The instrumentation is appropriate for the theme, featuring Spanish guitars and gypsy castanets.

Other songs by this act that would have qualified: not applicable.
