94. Tell me (Camel)

The British progressive rock group Camel (image credit) has always received less credit in the prog scene than Genesis, Yes, or ELP. It still should be recognised though that throughout the seventies they have consistently produced high quality symphonic rock, sometimes with a jazzy flavour. I consider their best albums to be Mirage and Moonmadness, although most people would probably choose The snow goose. The later album Rain dances from 1977, with a slight shift towards an even jazzier style, is overall a bit less impressive. However, it contains their best track ever, the audaciously slow ballad Tell me.

Other songs by this act that would have qualified: not applicable.
